Remembering Gregory C. Butler

Helping Greg’s Memory Live On

Gregory Cornell Butler was an indescribable man that touched the lives of so many people from 1949-2023. We know a lot of people relied on him for a laugh, a phone call, a shoulder to cry on, or a piece of advice. In his absence, we thought this website would be a great means of providing you a little bit of Greg in your day.

No one gave better advice

I think most of dad’s friends and family would describe dad as a mentor and confidant. He was always willing to listen to peoples success, problems, stories, secrets, or anything they needed to say. But never shared other peoples business. As much as he listened, dad was phenomenal teacher as well that loved to help others by sharing his knowledge to help you succed.

Everyone has a favorite Greg Quote

Dad had strong opinions on things, MOST things. He also had a very pure set of values in life. Because of these two things, Greg had an endless bag of quotes. Some of these were advice, some grammar, some to make others laugh, and some to make himself laugh. There was a phrase for any situation!

He didnt always smile in pictures, but he always let us take them!

We’ve taken a lot of pictures of Greg over the years. If there’s one trend we’ve seen it’s that he either never looks at the camera or he’s making a goofy face. We love seeing Dad’s personality in this way and it makes the pictures of him smiling that much more precious to us.

The man knew how to have fun and get into trouble!

Greg lived one hell of an exciting and eventful life. Every person that knows him has at least a handful of stories about him. Dad was a no nonsense, fun loving, adventure seeking man that did not like being told what to do. That is a perfect recipe for a lifetime of laughs, close calls, and shenanigans.

Dad knew a jam when he heard one!

Greg had such a diverse musical taste. He enjoyed blues, rock, hiphop, cuban, jazz, musicals and so many more genres. Between himself and mom, us kids developed a deep passion for listening to and playing music. We’ve put together a playlist with some of dads favorite songs for you to enjoy!
